Loading keymap i386/qwertz/de-latin1-nodeadkeys.map.gz This is for the console keybaord layout. It's unrelated to the keyboard layout in X11.
I have that problem on both my notebook and my desktop-computer. The deadkeys do logically not work: `´^. These are necessary for me to write in French. You want to have a french keyboard layout but configured a german keybaord layout? I suggest to reconfigure your keyboard layout again with sax2.

No, I want a german keyboard layout (my keyboard is german) but I want to be able to use the deadkeys in order to type french letters (éàî...). And therefore in need my Suse to have to deadkeys enabled, as it was in previous versions. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

For whatever reasons something overwrites the xorg.conf keyboard settings during the Xsession start. I suggest to configure your keyboard layout with KDE/Gnome control center - depending on which desktop you use.
