[Bug 403606] New: Compiz' Water effect and alpha blur mess up screen
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=403606 Summary: Compiz' Water effect and alpha blur mess up screen Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: maurice@debijl.net QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Customer When activating the water effect, the screen turns gray/yellowish with a bit of green. After the effect, the screen returns to normal. When applying the alpha blur for a specific window, the window is turning white (including the title bar). All other Compiz effects seem to work fine. Are these effects using OpenGL? When I run glxgears, and I move the window it is running in, parts of the gears still remain visible on top of other windows. I'm running the 64-bit Gnome version of OpenSuse 11 on a laptop (Acer 5220) with an intel GL960 chipset (almost equal to GM965, the graphical capabilities is sometimes referred to as X3100). I can reproduce this problem also with the 32-bit Gnome Live CD. Under OpenSuse 10.3 with the same laptop the water effects runs fine (I don't know if the alpha blur runs on that machine). Reproduce water effect: - Go to Compiz settings - Enable water effect - Press CTRL+ALT Reproduce alpha blur: - Go to Compiz settings - Enable blur - Check the alpha blur checkbox - Enter a window title (eg Gnome Terminal) - Open the Gnome Terminal -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
