However, pam_mount does not control whether the cifs is already mounted. It tries to mount it again which gives an error message. Also, it is configured to remove the mount dir (if it created it). However, in the case of a sequential login, it does not remove the directory if the last session to close is not the first one to open. In expert, add any directory config 4. replace /etc/security/pam_mount.conf.xml with the provided config content 5. login as a user in tty1 6. pam_mount creates the mount dir and mount the configured cifs 7. login as the same user in tty2 Actual Results: 8. The user in tty2 gets a multiple line error message saying that the mount directory is busy 9. the session is tty1 is closed (it is correctly not unmounted as tty2 is using it) 10. the session is tty2 is closed. The directory is umounted but not removed; Expected Results: 8. It should check that the directory is mounted and skip it 9. the session is tty1 is closed (it is correctly not unmounted as tty2 is using it) 10. the session is tty2 is closed. The directory is umounted and removed; For the first problem, it could check if cifs is already mounted and skip it. A mount can also be shared with other users. Maybe, it could even add remount to options when the mountdir is already mounted. However, remount is not valid for the first time mount. For the not-removed mount-dir, just create a flag file inside the mount dir if it was created by pam_mount (like mount-dir/.created-by-pam_mount.to-removed).
