[Bug 299814] New: mkinitrd bootloader execution is inconsistent
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=299814 Summary: mkinitrd bootloader execution is inconsistent Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: agraf@novell.com ReportedBy: bwalle@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: hare@novell.com Found By: Development Current mkinitrd script runs the elilo bootloader, but not lilo or power-lilo. This is inconsistent. For example, in the postinstall script of kdump-helpers I have to re-install the bootloader because initrd is modified. In case of elilo, the bootloader is run twice which is a performance waste. The correct way of re-running the bootloader on all architectures is (according to Alexander Osthof, perl-Bootloader maintainer): /sbin/update-bootloader --refresh -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
