Checking NTP in the Yast2-module, it was set to 'during boot', but I noticed that the FW port was blocked. I opened the port and left the NTP-module with OK. Afterwards the network was dead. Could it have been a transient connection error back then? Axel can you reproduce the problem now? If yes, how do you determine that the network is down? "ip a"? ping?
Just due to the fact that I could not reach any webpage. Anyway, I changed the settings forth and back and the network still was working. But after every change the checkbox 'open Firewall' was unchecked, despite I set the flag there every time. In the firewall settings I could not find a setting that shows that the port is really open... <confused> the log shows that the ntpd is syncing with an external source, so why do I need to open a port for it?
