[Bug 220338] New: Update Tidy packages
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220338 Summary: Update Tidy packages Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: All URL: http://repos.opensuse.org/Tidy/ OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Maintenance AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sierkb@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: aj@novell.com The factory packages of tidy and its sub-packages libtidy and libtidy-devel are not up-to-date. As of November 12th 2006, current packages in factory tree are from the year 2005. Since a very while (since several month) most recent versions of Tidy and libtidy are available and maintained at openSUSE's software repository on http://repos.opensuse.org/Tidy/. Please update the factory tree packages of openSUSE to the newer (most recent) versions which are part of the openSUSE Software repository. Several other packages/sub-packages like PHP/php-tidy rely on libtidy, so it is not so unimportant to keep libtidy up-to-date. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220338 ------- Comment #2 from sierkb@gmx.de 2006-11-13 04:43 MST ------- P.S.: If you update the tidy/tidylib packages in the factory tree, please don't forget to update the package apache2-mod_tidy as well, which also is part of the openSUSE Build Project Tidy on http://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=Tidy. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I added a .changes file to tidy and merged the changelog. I'm looking at apache2-mod_tidy next. I'll merge the changelog of it as well. Then I note, that it has a broken buildrequires "apache2-devel," (comma which doesn't work). I'm also removing neededforbuild. -# norootforbuild -# neededforbuild apache2-devel, libtidy-devel - -BuildRequires: apache2-devel, libtidy-devel +BuildRequires: apache2-devel libtidy-devel -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220338 ------- Comment #5 from sierkb@gmx.de 2006-11-13 07:55 MST ------- Thanks a lot, Peter. With a quick look into the Spec text this morning, I have set the comma just right a few hours ago, thinking that it's lack was a fault, and that it has to be set. So I set it (whatever I may have falsely thought in doing so). I didn't watch and control the triggered build process, so an error message couldn't reach my attent. Thanks a lot for being so mindful! Four eyes do indeed see quite more than two eyes... :-) I have just corrected the fault and have removed the erroneous comma in the Build System's spec file (BuildRequires) and have also removed #neededforbuild. I have also added this morning libtidy to the Requires:-field, because I am quite unsure, if, while building the package with libtidy-devel (the headers of libtidy), this suffices to run the binary module. I have added also libtidy to the Requires:-field to be 100% sure, that nothing lacks to run the module. If you have the opinion, that it suffices to have just libtidy-devel while building the module, and the ready built binary module has all in it, it needs, then libtidy can be removed again from the Requires:-field. I am quite unsure in this point, so a short notice to me would be appreciated. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220338 ------- Comment #6 from poeml@novell.com 2006-11-13 08:02 MST ------- Sierk, you'll note some reformatting in the spec file which is caused by our script which (among other tasks) takes changelog from a *.changes file and writes them to *.spec. Unfortunately, it also removes %debug_package, sorry. I can't do anything about it at the moment. An explicit requires on the libtidy package is not required. The Autoreqprov makes sure that rpm searches the binaries for neded libraries, so it has a requires on the actual library anyway: % rpm -qRp /abuild/oscbuild-SUSE_Linux_10.1-x86_64/usr/src/packages/RPMS/x86_64/apache2-mod_tidy-0.5.5-32.x86_64.rpm apache2 apache_mmn_20051115 libtidy /bin/sh rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1 rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1 libc.so.6()(64bit) libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit) libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3.4)(64bit) libtidy-0.99.so.0()(64bit) <----------------- rpmlib(PayloadIsBzip2) <= 3.0.5-1 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
