[Bug 169993] GNOME TV Application "zapping" crashes on select "preferences"
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=169993 sbrabec@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |NEEDINFO Info Provider| |robin.listas@telefonica.net ------- Comment #12 from sbrabec@novell.com 2007-03-14 03:17 MST ------- Can you retest the same, but with calling gconftool-rebuild as root after installation of SuSE package? I know, that SuSE package has broken schemas, but I cannot verify, whether it fails after fixing of this problem. gconftool-rebuild is a work-around, which does it manually. 0) Uninstall any other zapping version. 1) install /mnt/dvd/suse/i586/zapping-0.9.6-51.i586.rpm 2) run gconftool-rebuild as root. 3) rm -rf ~zap/.gconf* # Delete all saved configurations of user zap 4) log out as "cer", log in as "zap". 6) Start an xterm, start zapping, try preferences... If it will not crash, it is easy to fix, if it will crash, backtrace may help to fix it. 7) log out as "zap", log in as "cer". 8) Start an xterm, start zapping, try preferences... If previous does not crash and this does, we need ugly hacks.
