In comment#5, you have mentioned that creating the partitions were successful. but the installation was not completed, right?
In description of the bug, I have mentioned that installer exited with a call
trace. Yes, when I do
a custom partitioning and try to install installer produced the error. However
installation with
default partition succeed. Now, in comment #5, I have tried partitioning in
installed system and
partitioning succeeded producing a call trace.
After the partition output of fdisk -l:

Cijurajan Kollanoor <> -
The dm-x block devices are device mapper devices. Something is likely creating
them to map certain
partitions (if you have EVMS) or to represent the block devices for any logic
volumes for LVM. fdisk
-l looks through all the block devices listed in /proc/partitions when you use
-l alone.
I think, we should be able to install the system after formatting the
partitions.

does this also happen with sles11rc2 or sles11rc1?
I didn't hit this bug installing sles11rc2 using a very similar partition table (3 logical volumes of 5gb plus 3 encrypted filesystems of the same size) on a power machine, but I noticed a big time to encrypt each filesystem, more than 40 minutes to each one, aside the long time to encrypt no others issues found and the installation completed successfully. ok, if it does not happen anymore, its most likely fixed. there where issues with the swap over nfs patches, which may have caused memory corruption. I think it will not happen with an 11.1 install from a local DVD drive.
DVD installation, it did not produce any errors. I will re-test with NFS based network installation on opensuse 11.2 Alpha release. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
