Vincent, the original issue (as shown on the screenshot) may be resolved but I'm not really sure. The fonts look bad in GDM at 1024x768 but they look fine inside GNOME after a login.
Inside GNOME with a brand new user or not? :-)
Where can I set the DPI globally (e.g. not only for the gnome session but also GDM) or, what other options could cause this?
I don't know if you can set the DPI globally. But really, if this is "only" a DPI issue where it's not 96, the packages I've uploaded last week should help (gnome-settings-daemon and gnome-control-center). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Inside GNOME with a brand new user or not? :-) Argh, no... on new accounts the GNOME DPI is set to 66dpi (which seems to match GDM). On the old profile, it was set to 96dpi.

I was using the packages from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Factory/ until now. I then updated to the ones in GNOME:/Factory, but it's still the same thing.

That's because the BS is not building the latest package. Always check with rpm -q --changelog ;-) Fixing the BS right now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

As for the "vertical issue", my gdm "panel" still grows a few pixels during login in my b2 installation. This is because the widgets that are inserted as soon as you get the password prompt (language, keyboard, session) are higher than what would fit into the panel. It may be theme-specific... But I'm using the openSUSE default theme (Gilouche).
This is fixed now, as far as I can tell. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
