But the issue https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=572952 is not that I described. That issue of gedit is due to at a linguistic level "ss" is an orthographic equivalent of "ß", and gedit is processing the strings at that level instead of at a character equivalence level, I think. I am a Spanish speaker user, and modern Spanish has not those tweaks. The problem I have is that the search (some times) do not retrieve matches I know they are in the document but after changing the search options (not the string to be matched), such as backward, approximative match (coincidencia aproximada, more or less in Spanish) to get the finding. I mean: a very basic search. As I do not change the sting to search, changing the search options seems to "unblock" (a way to say) the mechanism that perform or retrieves the search.
