I've tried to install Firefox 32bit from mozilla.org tarball too and the same problem occurs: firefox freezes, no video is played. With the 64bit version a gray square, placed where the video was, remains on screen on top of any window opened after killing Firefox. X must be restarted to get rid of the gray square. Video driver is Nvidia 100.14.19 installed manually (no problem with RC1). Please check it out. In my case firefox plays the first picture of the video and freezes, i.e. it stops responding, and must be killed.
