I somewhat suspect a non-complete update to GNOME 3.6. Can you please paste the output of:
zypper lr -u -p zypper lu -a
Searching from Gnome-shell and click on single tools like 'Display' and 'Details', they can be opened but neither these are reponding.

Here is the terminal output error messages when starting the gnome-control-center and lastly Quit:
gnome-control-center
(gnome-control-center:4546): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type `GstFormat'
Can you show the output of
rpm -qa "typelib-1_0-Gst*"
(gnome-control-center:4546): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `result != 0' failed
Which version of g-c-c are we talking about here? (3.6.0 or 3.6.1?)
rpm -q gnome-control-center will tell
(gnome-control-center:4546): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot retrieve class for invalid (unclassed) type `<invalid>'
That one sounds really odd.. might be as bad as a wrong glib version
rpm -q libglib-2_0-0
I doubt at this moment that the hardware would have any influence here.. but of course we also can't rule it out. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I started out with a more basic system than this, and had the same error message all the time after upgrade to 3.6.0 and next 3.6.1

It works well however on two other Intel/Nvidida machines with similar installations. Have also reinstalled from scratch on this AMD/ATI machines without any change. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
