[Bug 483976] New: Shutting down a Xen domU doesn't remove it from xm list or release memory
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=483976 Summary: Shutting down a Xen domU doesn't remove it from xm list or release memory Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen AssignedTo: cgriffin@novell.com ReportedBy: kamil@zymeworks.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.7) Gecko/2009021910 Firefox/3.0.7 If I shut down a Xen domU domain either through shutting it down from the guest, using "xm shutdown", or even "xm destroy", it does not disappear from the list of vms in "xm list". Furthermore, the memory being used by the domU doesn't appear to be released back to the dom0. The available memory for the dom0 in "xm list" is the total less that what was being used by the domU. "free -m" reports this as well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch a xen domain 2. Look at the output of "xm list" 3. Shut down the xen domain 4. Look at the output of "xm list" Actual Results: The domain is still present in the "xm list" output although without an ID. The memory is not released back to the dom0. Expected Results: The domain shouldn't be in the list, the memory should be released back to the dom0. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
