I suggest not to enable desktop effects, if it doesn't work reliable. We can't fix such intel driver issues. Please open a bugreport upstream on bugs.freedesktop.org (product: xorg, component: Driver/intel) and take me into Cc (sndirsch@suse.de), if it's an important issue for you.
