[Bug 905675] New: broadcom-wl unusually flakey (compared to 13.1)
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=905675 Bug ID: 905675 Summary: broadcom-wl unusually flakey (compared to 13.1) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 RC 1 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: roger.luedecke@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 613818 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=613818&action=edit Hardware Profile from YaST My hardware is unable to work with brcmsmac since it is too new, and thus requires the broadcom-wl driver from Packman. In 13.1 it was perfectly solid. Now after installing the newest Fluendo Codec Pack it has stopped working. See susepaste for WPA Supplicant log. http://susepaste.org/53684304 This however isn't the first time simply installing something has broken it. The same behavior was observed after installing Bumblebee (with and without NVIDIA driver). Considering I used Bumblebee and the Codec Pack on 13.1, this leads me to believe the problem is more likely in the distribution. The visible behavior is that the GNOME NetworkManager applet is 'stuck' on "Connecting." -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

How does the error case look? 1) do you still have a wlan device?
2) Does "iwlist scan" show access-points?
3) Does iwconfig give a MAC-addr after Access Point?
4) do you have multiple wireless devices in that machine? (wlp0s20u1 and wlp7s0 )
