[Bug 373729] New: Software Manager: Locked package status is not persisted
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=373729 Summary: Software Manager: Locked package status is not persisted Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: contact@i-nz.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Locked status of packages is lost once yast is closed. Say there is a Packman package which is shown as an upgrade for a SUSE package, but the Packman package conflicts in some way (e.g wants to downgrade other packages, etc). I don't want to ever install this package, so in SMART Package Manager I have it locked and the locked status is persisted, so that whenever I bulk upgrade it is not installed. I cannot do this with YaST as the locked status is always lost on close and I have to lock packages each time or just end up manually picking upgrades. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

No, weak locks are treated separately. They are much simpler and nothing the user must maintain.
But maybe some users want maintain it like USE flags in gentoo? say that this package thay want only if it necessary. and whole locks mechanism can be used, only save it to separate file and apply another output iterator on it to use keep lock (or modify iterator to choose how locks pipelined locks) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
