Just to make sure I created a new Floppy with Windows XP, which I use as emergency boot disk ( format and copy ntldr, ntdetect.com and boot.ini to it ) This disk when mounted produces Feb 23 11:01:35 workstation6l klogd: sdb: unknown partition table and is otherwise readable and writable.
