[Bug 385291] New: gnome-keyboard-properties touchpad settings cause mouse to get stuck after login
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=385291 Summary: gnome-keyboard-properties touchpad settings cause mouse to get stuck after login Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Macintosh OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: novell@mirell.de QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: novell@mirell.de Found By: Beta-Customer I have a Macbook1,1 with a touchpad and intel graphics. The touchpad is setup using the synaptics driver in my xorg.conf. It works fine when Xorg starts up and during the gdm login screen. However, as soon as the GNOME splash screen is done (and most likely settings are read), my mouse is stuck and it can't be moved. (Right-)Clicking/two finger scrolling etc. all still work and even synclient shows touchpad movements despite the mouse is not moving on the screen. After investigating it appears that this gconf key is the cause of this issue: /desktop/gnome/peripherials/touchpad Once I remove the key path, my mouse starts working again on the next Xorg restart (and relogin since on intel graphic cards, Xorg is restarted I think). This key is set by gnome-keyboard-properties. Had no time to look further into the code what is really happening but can supply all info required. The touchpad gconf key causing my issue: <gconf>

</gconf> Tried removing each entry one by one but it appears I have to remove the whole touchpad path in order for my touchpad to work normally in GNOME again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
