the registration succeeds, but it doesn't give you the right set of channels.
The channels depend on the product that is registered. If it is an unknown product that has no channels assigned in NCC, then a registering machine will get none. (In reply to comment #1)
Why did registration succeed in all of our tests ?
Because we registered SLE-11 and various openSUSE distributions. The name of the product must be known to NCC. And sle-11-WebYaST != sle-11-webyast so an unknown product is registered. We either need to adapt the product name or ask Eric to change the name in NCC to lower case (AFAIK such product names should always be lowercase). Eric: can you change this easily or even better add an alias, so that "sle-11-WebYaST" and "sle-11-webyast" are the same? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

How was this tested during RC phase ?

Adapt the product name please. There's Thanksgiving holidays in the US and we have to ship early next week. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

(In reply to comment #1)
Because we registered SLE-11 and various openSUSE distributions.
To document this here again: NCC knows the product string "sle-11-WebYaST" This is what our products file has to contain. Then it depends on what update channels NCC assigns to the product. Note: The regcode has to match as well. I will test again with the latest appliance and register sle-11 as base product and sle-11-WebYaST as add-on product. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In the product file the version nuber of the webyast-product is "11". But it must be "1.0". .. Klaus, please fix the version number in the products file.
(In reply to comment #10)
Ok, after setting the version to 1.0 I now see the added repos
There are so many '11's there that this instruction is hopeless. Please attach a patch. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Arthur,
On a system wihout this service (all our appliances come without it) it should look like this screenshot.
Correction, I just saw that the clean build 0.18.0 has the service added already. So Klaus' screenshot is correct as well. Just another hint, if you want to repeat the registration test, please follow these steps to reset the machine: # zypper rs nu_novell_com # rm -vrf /var/cache/SuseRegister/lastzmdconfig.cache /root/.suse_register.log /etc/zypp/credentials.d/* # rcdbus restart && rcyastws restart -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

# rcdbus restart && rcyastws restart
Restarting the system bus can hit the attached services. You probably want to restart the yast service only: pkill -f yast_modules_dbus_server -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
