https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220899 Summary: Linuxrc crashed during Hardware initialization Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: peter.mark@onlinehome.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Linuxrc reported: udevd[776]: init_udevd_socket: bind failed: Address already in use udevd[766]: main: error initialializing udevd socket .. the udev-number is randomizing ... This error seems to be through all 10.2-versions (also tyried with alpha5) There are no probs with versions like SLED10 and OpenSUSE10.1 Hardware: Socket A Asrock-Mainboard K7NF2-RAID with N-Force2 chipset, 2xSATA and 2xIDE(no RAID activated). CPU is an Athlon XP2500 400GB harddrive via SATA and both optical drives via IDE. The memory consists of 512MB and 256MB modules (both DDR400). Further informations: Sometimes the installation switches to the Text-Mode. But there is no way to mount a optical Drive. Twice, the installer started correctly. I selected my preferences and started the installation. But ... after some minutes the system hang up. I discoverd the System with a couple of analysis-tools to find out for example IRQ-conflicts etc. No bugs found. I also started a hated Redmond Product like WinPE (CD-Only Version) :-)) No Prob. All drives accessible. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

This isn't nice, but shouldn't cause a problem, if the already running udev still works. I can't think of anything udev is doing wrong here. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
