[Bug 544169] New: Recommended /boot partition format?
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=544169 Summary: Recommended /boot partition format? Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 8 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Documentation AssignedTo: ke@novell.com ReportedBy: noelamac@gmail.com QAContact: ke@novell.com Found By: --- While translating "storage.es.po" I can see the following advice: #. popup text #: storage/src/include/custom_part_check_generated.ycp:233 msgid "" "You tried to mount a fat partition to the\n" "mount point /boot. This will very likely cause problems. Use a Linux file\n" "system, such as ext3, ext4 or reiserfs, for this mount point.\n" "\n" "Really use this setup?\n" But by checking the wiki [1] it seems that "reiserfs" is not really a recommended option for /boot (just ext[234] family seems to be fully supported). So, who is right, the storage manager or the wiki? :-) [1] http://en.opensuse.org/Bootloader/Scenarios -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
