[Bug 392500] New: Permissions reset using printer
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=392500 Summary: Permissions reset using printer Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mail@studiohire.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer I use a text-based application which uses a Basic interpreter. I can use the printer using /dev/lp0 or its USB equivalent without problems as a Root user. If I change the settings of lp0 to 666, as soon as I use the printer as a normal user, the program hangs and on inspection, the /dev/lp0 file has been reset to 700-superuser only. I have tried different computers and get the same problem. This did not happen with a much earlier (pre Novell) version of OpenSuse. I have also contacted the writers of the application and they do not normally have problems with other Unix/Linux systems. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
