The fglrx-driver requires the newest Xorg (otherwise all 3D-programs terminate with an error message).
This issue needs to be fixed by ATI. Sorry, we don't track any fglrx driver bugs filed against openSUSE.
However the repo being found at
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.0/
is empty.
Bleeding edge X stack is only built against latest openSUSE release (currently 11.1) and Factory. Unfortunately I wasn't able to remove the 11.0 target completely since still others link with their projects against X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.0/ - for whatever reason. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Doesn`t Xorg compile on openSUSE 11.0?? Otherwise it should not be that hard to provide an Xorg-repo for os11.0. Hey; this is pretty important to the average desktop user !!
I don't think so. Consider providing the X11:XOrg development project also for an older distribution than factory as a nice-to-have. I do this since I'm using it myself on my 11.1 machine at home, so I can make sure that it works - more or lesss. For 11.0 I wouldn't have any idea what would happen. Replacing the complete X stack is always a risk. I usually don't recommend this to anyone.
fglrx does not work with os11.1 and os11.2 due to a missing kernel symbol so Please make an Xorg available for os11.0! Otherwise many gamers and google-earth users may look for another distro.
But why do you need to update the X stack then? ATI needs to fix the issue with the missing kernel symbol, i.e. no longer use it. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
