https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=353150 User andrewtheartist@hotmail.com added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=353150#c1 Summary: Automounting of USB devices suddenly fails Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 URL: http://www.andrewsteinhome.com OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andrewtheartist@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: andrewtheartist@hotmail.com Found By: --- Recently, the automounting of my removable USB hardware (iPod, flash drive, etc) suddenly stopped working after working perfectly for many weeks. By a failure to automount, I mean that an icon does not show up on the desktop indicating that the media has been successfully attached to a mountpoint, and there is no corresponding mountpoint for my removable storage in /media (for example) Let's take my iPod for an example - It seems that, for example, my iPod is detected (as seen my lsusb) andrew@linux-drew:~> lsusb Bus 004 Device 014: ID 05ac:1209 Apple Computer, Inc. I would hope the folks at OpenSuSE would have the intelligence to remove Gparted from the repositories. I quit using OpenSuSE as a result of this problem, and switched to Sidux who had identified the problem on their user website. I'm shocked that it takes so long for SuSE to address an issue such as this, as it makes their OS unusable.
I still could find no evidence of gparted in any official repository, though its in two build service repositories (and of course people can build what they like there) - the home:knuckles and Ports:DebianBased:Auto. I guess its in packman so there is nothing to remove from openSUSE itself, which is presumably why there is no documentation on the problem for openSUSE. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
