[Bug 207597] New: libzypp will add two different repos for each yum repo
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207597 Summary: libzypp will add two different repos for each yum repo Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 4 plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp AssignedTo: kkaempf@novell.com ReportedBy: mauro@novell.com QAContact: mauro@novell.com CC: aj@novell.com, flucifredi@novell.com PROBLEM DESCRIPTION When you add a yum repo within yast, libzypp will create a new zypp repo for yast (since zypp can handle yum repos) and will create a "yum" repo on ZMD (since zmd and yast should have the same repos). This makes the system to update/download metadata twice (and nowdays, some repo's metadata is really big). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install opensuse 2. Add a yum repo within yast. 3. check the service list within yast and then with zmd. I thought that we always use type ZYPP, see variable "owner" in /usr/share/YaST2/modules/SourceManager.ycp and bug 165145 It works for me in Alpha3plus if I add http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/Mvidner/SUSE_Linux_10.1/ via "yast2 inst_source". Then in "rug sl" I see type ZYPP.
