To reproduce the problem, make sure you have libgnomesu installed and do: % touch test.rpm % zen-installer test.rpm Result: As expected, gnomesu wants to run the command: /usr/bin/mono /usr/lib/zen-updater/ZenInstaller.exe test.rpm But now, let's set ZEN_MONO_ARGS to something useful: % touch $HOME/test.rpm % export ZEN_MONO_ARGS="--debug" % zen-installer $HOME/test.rpm Result: gnomesu wants to run the same command: /usr/bin/mono /usr/lib/zen-updater/ZenInstaller.exe test.rpm But this should be: /usr/bin/mono --debug /usr/lib/zen-updater/ZenInstaller.exe test.rpm With kdesu it fails in a different, but similar way.
