In each case: (1) the xfs daemon was still running (2) xfsinfo and xlsfonts timed out (3) the log file ended with: /usr/bin/xfs notice: attempting clone... /usr/bin/xfs notice: clone: parent revitalizing as /usr/bin/xfs /usr/bin/xfs notice: clone: child becoming drone usage: /usr/bin/xfs [-config config_file] [-port tcp_port] [-droppriv] [-daemon] [-nodaemon] [-user user_name] [-ls listen_socket] The config file included the lines # no-listen = tcp port = 7100 client-limit = 10 clone-self = on We also have a font server running on a 10.2 machine and this successfully clones itself. /usr/bin/xfs is from xorg-x11-7.3-96.2, and the problem occurs on both i686 and x86_64. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

With the config file in place, could you go back to the original xorg-x11 RPM, install the xorg-x11-debuginfo + xorg-x11-debugsource packages and attach gdb to the xfs process (gdb -p )?
