[Bug 366664] New: kate: wrong cursor placement when inserting lines ( kdebase3-3.5.9-64.1 OSB)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=366664 Summary: kate: wrong cursor placement when inserting lines (kdebase3-3.5.9-64.1 OSB) Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: jo@feuersee.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- To reproduce: Open a text/plain document in kate. Cut one or more complete lines (by placing the cursor in the 1st row and (repeatedly for multiple lines) pressing Shift+DnArr, then ^X) insert it again (^V) Expected result: The line is inserted, cursor is in 1st row of the 1st line below the inserted line/text. Actual result: The cursor is at the end of the first line of inserted text. This behavior is totally different from that of any other text-editing (KDE) application, leaving kate useless for coding (and for anything else since I can't think of any real life situation where this cursor placement would be useful). The behavior of the former version (before 2008-02-29) was ok. Because of this and that there is no mention of changes concerning kate in the KDE 3.5.9 changelog, I'd say it's a packaging error, not an inherited KDE bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Does this happen with any text file? Can you attach a text file which triggers this behaviour?
The bug did occur in any text file (at least I couldn't find one where it wasn't triggered). Tried text/plain (README), C, C++, Perl, PHP -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
