It needs to be changed manually in the text area context menu.
No, first of all the dictionary matching the locale should be selected by default, but isn't, second it's not even available in the menu, only English is.
Actually Firefox can't map system locales to dictionaries so that choice can't be made automatically.
Well it is made automatically in Fedora...
WFM since Firefox uses system spell checking dicts.

Then something is wrong in your installation. Please check the contents of ll /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9/dictionaries (or lib64 if you run 64bit) If there is nothing please run as root /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9/add-plugins.sh and check again.

You are really sure? It doesn't look like it would from their source package but I have no Fedora to test it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hmm... yes something wrong: $ ls /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9/dictionaries/ en-US.aff en-US.dic # /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9/add-plugins.sh -> added myspell dictionaries $ ls /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9/dictionaries/ en-US.aff es-ES.aff fr-FR.aff hu-HU.aff it-IT.aff pt-BR.aff en-US.dic es-ES.dic fr-FR.dic hu-HU.dic it-IT.dic pt-BR.dic

Hmm... it's how I remember, I will try it. But if it doesn't look like that from the source, then maybe not... Sorry. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

OK, it's pretty hard to find out why add-plugins.sh didn't work correctly at some point. With some previous package there was an issue with adding the dictionaries but that should be fixed with recent versions IIRC.

Actually there is some default selection code in Firefox which should do that. I'm currently investigating why it doesn't get triggered correctly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
