[Bug 216122] New: Can't activate desktop effects
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216122 Summary: Can't activate desktop effects Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Xgl AssignedTo: dreveman@novell.com ReportedBy: simon.strandman@telia.com QAContact: bperry@novell.com I have openSuse 10.2 beta1 installed on my laptop. The grapic card is a intel i915 with working 3D acceleration. I've run rug update but it didn't find any so everything I have installed is from the beta1 DVD. When i first tried activating desktop effects it said that my card wasn't in the list of supported card but that it might be working if I enabled 3D acceleration in sax. The problems was that 3D acceleration was enabled and working already. I installed freeglut to get the glxinfo utility and it seems to have resolved that problem. So the xgl stuff should have a depend on freeglut. So now I can click the "enable desktop effects" button but it doesn't work anywway. I get loged out of gnome but when I log in again xgl isn't activated. Is there any log I can look at to see why it didn't work? https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216122 ------- Comment #4 from simon.strandman@telia.com 2006-11-16 15:47 MST ------- My laptop is in for repair right now so it'll take about two weeks before I can provide that information. Bug #221490 looks like my initial problem, that XGL couldn't be activated because gnome-xgl-switch didn't think 3D acceleration was on. That was fixed by installing freeglut (I think). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
