[Bug 528486] New: susetags2solv speed regression?
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=528486 Summary: susetags2solv speed regression? Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp AssignedTo: zypp-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: binner@kde.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090714 SUSE/3.5.1-1.1 Firefox/3.5.1 There seem to have been introduced some speed regression in susetags2solv recently, with every Factory update "susetags2solve -c /var/cache/zypp/raw/openSUSE-11.2-Oss/content" runs several seconds with high load (without progress information at zypper prompt). I can't remember it taking that long before, did something change? :-) Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I can confirm this behaviour on two seperate installations of Milestone 5 (i586 and x86_64) trying to run "zypper up". However on x86_64 the process hung for several minutes at > 95% CPU-load before I killed it. Removed all the old files (zypper clean -a) to be sure to have a "clean" state and treid again. Unfortunately, same behaviour, even after 10 minutes of "hanging" the process did not finish on x86_64. I don't know if it is of special importance, but both installations run as virtual machines (VirtualBox). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
