It re-appears after moving or modifying the letter. So I took a look through google, and it turned out that the bug was introduced in Xorg server: commit 8d7b7a0d71e0b89321b3341b781bc8845386def6 Author: Kristian Høgsberg Date: Thu Jul 29 20:36:25 2010 -0400 Set DamageSetReportAfterOp to true for the damage extension There were some attempts to fix, but they didn't fix always. Simply reverting the commit fixes the issue. (The package found in OBS home:tiwai:branches:X11:XOrg/xorg-x11-server repo.)
