[Bug 595760] New: Cannot suspend to ram with intel driver
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=595760 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=595760#c0 Summary: Cannot suspend to ram with intel driver Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: wstephenson@novell.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Symptom: on pm-suspend or echo "mem" > /sys/power/state, the system beeps and the suspend led blinks, but the display and other LEDs and fans stay on. This happens if X was started (or stopped again) with the intel driver. If I boot in failsafe mode, starting X using the fbdev driver, suspend works. System is a 32bit thinkpad. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have tried the rc5 kernel from Kernel:HEAD, but the problem still remains. The fix seems to resolve the issue when coming out of suspend.
Raymond, which Intel graphics is this exactly? Type 'lspci -nnv|grep VGA' -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/85630/ https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15533 I added two patches to the bugzilla: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=25522 (possible fix) http://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=25523 (additional debug) If the first patch fixes it, we're all set. If it doesn't, I'd like the additional debug info from the second patch. Thanks! Bjorn Workaround for now is kernel boot option: 'pci=nocrs'. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Ok.
The fix seems to resolve the issue when coming out of suspend.
So does the rc5 kernel resolve the issue for you or not? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
