Why did the Tumbleweed devs create symlink to /etc/os-release. This symlink is the problem. Why not add a patch that will read /usr/lib/os-release?

Maintenance team can't do this until 42.3 until is released. The copy of the SLE maintenance update to Leap 42.3 will happen automatically when it has been released for SLE, which should happen any day now. Leap release team can workaround if desired.
