[Bug 621777] New: "error initializing camera" because GNOME makes flood of attempts to access camera
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=621777 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=621777#c0 Summary: "error initializing camera" because GNOME makes flood of attempts to access camera Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Hotplug AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jlutz@fastmail.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100611 SUSE/3.6.4-3.2 Firefox/3.6.4 openSUSE 11.3/ Connecting a Canon Powershot A1000IS via USB gives the following error prompts, with them appearing serially about twenty times: Error initializing camera: -53: Could not claim the USB device Error initializing camera: -1: Unspecified error More to the point, twenty-four Nautilus dialogs titled "Canon Digital Camera" simultaneously appear asking the user how to handle the device. This always happens, unless the user chooses the "do nothing" setting (possibly others, but opening F-spot had not worked before) and checks "always do this." If the user does that, there is no longer this issue of many simultaneous attempts to access the camera causing problems. I can post logs if someone can point out what would be relevant. In any case, the issue seems to be nautilus making multiple simultaneous attempts to access the camera. Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
