[Bug 227412] New: Firefox overwrites userChrome.css
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=227412 Summary: Firefox overwrites userChrome.css Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: 178155@glocalnet.net QAContact: qa@suse.de I´ve made a fresh install of openSUSE 10.2 using KDE as my desktop and Firefox as my browser. Now, when I edit my userChrome.css file and save everything is lost next time I start Firefox. It seems that Firefox in OS 10.2 is "hard coded" to overwrite the file every time it starts with a new one containing this line: @import url("file:///opt/gnome/share/themes/QtCurve/mozilla/QtCurve.css"); /* Added by QtCurve -- do not remove */ This is very annoying since I want to be able to change background color, reverse buttons and so on. These personal settings together with the Mostly Crystal theme worked great for me in 10.1. I have serched for this subject on different forums and in this bug database without luck. If this is not a bug but instead I need to change some setting somewhere please let me know howto. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=227412 ------- Comment #2 from mlj@chase.eclipse.co.uk 2006-12-24 08:11 MST ------- Still Present with 2.0.02-pre or is it a regression. Got around it by adding my userChrome setings to QtCurve.css, which has some advantages if you want all chrome to be identical. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

From the qtcurve-gtk2 package changelog:
* Fri Mar 16 2007 - stbinner@suse.de - update to 0.48: (snip) 6. By default do not alter user's userChrome.css file. This now has to be explicitly enabled via --enable-mozilla-mods ./configure option. This has been fixed for 10.3 and beyond. I don't expect this to be fixed for 10.2. Resolving FIXED, at least moving forward. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
