[Bug 309079] New: Uplink through cable-modem stalls with PCI cards.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309079 Summary: Uplink through cable-modem stalls with PCI cards. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: novell@grfx.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer On a DELL GX400 P4 machine. Upgraded to openSuSE 10.2 from 9.3 to get latest firewall for masquerading to a VoIP router. Testing bandwidth with www.dslreports.com/speedtests Java test indicated the uplink speed was 60kbps rather than 1.5Mbps - which I think it had been with 9.3. Tried moving cards in machine and various interrupt assignments, but the behavior stayed the same with the PCI cards (various - 3com/DLink/Linksys) - looked like the response packets got lost for large sends. Tried using a USB ethernet adapter instead and that worked OK. On small packets the network seems to be fine, and I think things time-out and recover so this might be a problem that is present for many people but isn't obvious - just looks like poor ISP service. Only uplink speed was affected. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
