[Bug 462682] New: fstab entries not being mounted on startup
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462682 Summary: fstab entries not being mounted on startup Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: 178155@glocalnet.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Since openSUSE 10.2 I've had the following entries to smb-shares in my fstab: //192.168.1.3/backup /network/backup cifs rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,user=myusername,password=mypassword //192.168.1.3/ipod /network/ipod cifs rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,user=myusername,password=mypassword //192.168.1.3/musiksamling /network/musiksamling cifs rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,user=myusername,password=mypassword //192.168.1.3/bilder /network/bilder cifs rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,user=myusername,password=mypassword //192.168.1.3/documents /network/documents cifs rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,user=myusername,password=mypassword //192.168.1.3/dvdiso /network/dvdiso cifs rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,user=myusername,password=mypassword //192.168.1.3/homemovies /network/homemovies cifs rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,user=myusername,password=mypassword //192.168.1.3/software /network/software cifs rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,user=myusername,password=mypassword Before upgrading from 11.0 to 11.1 they have all flawlessly been mounted at startup, but in 11.1 they just don't. My workaround for this is to add the following line to my systemwide crontab file: @reboot root sleep 10;mount -a In my opinion, even if the workaround works fine, this is a new bug that have appeared in 11.1. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Does this mean that smbfs was enabled by default in previous versions but disabled in 11.1? If that is the case I strongly recommend that smbfs once again will be enabled by default in upcomming 11.2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
