[Bug 409800] New: from hibernation, open network panel from taskbar before keyring window opens will lock system
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=409800 Summary: from hibernation, open network panel from taskbar before keyring window opens will lock system Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kiefabeb@verona.k12.wi.us QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer When waking from hibernation, I click on the network icon in the taskbar before the Keyring window opens. Now both windows are open but I can't do anything. The mouse moves but clicking does not do anything. Can't reload X using Ctrl Alt Bksp. All I've found so far is to power down. I've reproduced this 3 times. Hardware: Thinkpad X61 tablet. Wired and wireless networks. BTW: OpenSUSE 11 is a very nice step forward. Lots of polish and functionality have been added. Thank you. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Yes, the keyring is the NetworkManager keyring dialog asking for the password to connect to the network.
I'm probably using Windows terminology, not Linux terminology. The area I'm talking about is in the lower right corner of the screen, next to the clock and the display properties and volume controls.
So you're opening the menu of this icon, right?
I have another question. I have the laptop setup to sleep (or suspend) after 11 minutes when using battery power. What happens after 11 minutes is a hibernation, not a sleep. Is there a way to change this behavior?
If it's configured to sleep and not hibernate (in the power managemenet preferences), then it's a bug and you should open a new bug :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

What is interesting about this problem is that I cannot recreate the problem any longer. I'm wondering if one of the other updates has fixed this issue?
Hrm. Could be. Let's close the bug for now, but please reopen it if it happens again. Thanks a lot for your help! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
