Using QMessageBox::about(this, "My App", edit->displayText()); appears to be a much better way for reproducing problem seen in YaST2. You are right, with your test programs Qt4 works fine, only Qt3 is broken. That means we can close this bug (WONTFIX for Qt3, will be fixed when YaST2 is ported to Qt4).
