I could not find any problem in what yast2-storage was doing. Formatting, setting label, mounting of root fs, everything went ok according to what the content of the logs show. Everything went fine but there seems to be a serious problem with file and/or directory creation on the device /dev/sda6 (root fs).
These are first indications of the problem:
2007-10-03 15:15:24 <3> linux(3389) [bash] ShellCommand.cc(shellcommand):78 mount: mount point /mnt/sys does not exist 2007-10-03 15:15:35 <3> linux(3389) [zypp] CommitLog.cc(openLog):38 Could not open logfile '/mnt/var/log/YaST2/y2logRPM'
with much more similar problems to follow.
I would expect a lot of "I/O error" messages at kernel level (this is the only explanation I have for such a behavior). Since this seems to be reproducible could you please repeat the problematic case, let the installer start package installation, stop it after first error, switch to second virtual terminal and provide us the following date:
- content of /proc/mounts - output of command dmesg
I'm sorry, I've got the working system (GM 10.3) to this part of the disk. I don't want to damage this working system (Good job, guys. Sweet Suse. Thank you ;) ). The fault of unpackaging RPMS was not present in the new partitioned harddisk - all formated disk with RC1 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
