Again, the XGL version is the version of Compiz _WITHOUT_ the NOMAD patch.. I don't believe that the NOMAD branch has even been put into mainstream compiz code, it's currently its own branch. With NOMAD being released in 11.1 they won't pull the patch within compiz to make it work, and they will most definitly _NOT_ do it 10 days before scheduled release date in the RC1 state. NOMAD will give some pretty great features and 11.1 is going to be the base to get it working for SLED 11. We'll be the geauni pigs (to put it lightly). with that said we're sure to run into issues.. I just really hope this is fixed before the final release. . IMO it's very vital (since desktop decorations have been around for a while now). The NOMAD patch also kills Emerald, which no notice from Novell has been given if they are going to do away with the Emerald package, or still leave it in even though it's not compatible with Compiz that includes the NOMAD patch (on another note.. Emerald is no longer maintained, and with that said should be dropped until a new maintainer is found). I'm in the same boat as you.. and thankfully the XGL repository is availble to make my machine functional with Compiz.
