[Bug 240222] New: Old /opt/gnome/bin paths to helper applications in ~/.mozilla
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=240222 Summary: Old /opt/gnome/bin paths to helper applications in ~/.mozilla Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mmarek@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de On 10.2, I configured seamonkey to open pdf files using /opt/gnome/bin/evince. Now that evince has been moved to /usr/, I get a not very helpfull error message when trying to open a pdf document from the web: /tmp/sample.pdf could not be opened, because the assiciated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences. Eg. it doesn't tell me which file is missing and where to look in preferences :-( I know I should have just typed 'evince' and not '/opt/gnome/bin/evince' into the 'Open with...' field back then, but: If the GNOME team decides to write a script to fix this kind of problems (*), please consider also fixing ~/.mozilla/*/*.slt/mimeTypes.rdf (and probably the firefox config as well, I'm not a Firefox user though).
