s2ram -i can't identify my machine. So I can't use suspend to ram because my machine is always unknown.
linux-desktop:/home/norman # s2ram -i This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "System manufacturer" sys_product = "System Product Name" sys_version = "System Version" bios_version = "1001 " See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details.
Dit I forgot something to install for detection ?
No. The system manufacturer forgot to install a proper BIOS on your machine. Nothing you can fix, unfortunately. Since this is probably a desktop where you can change graphics adapters etc., there is no sane way to whitelist it anyway, so all you can do is to go the way described here: http://en.opensuse.org/Pm-utils#Using_suspend_to_RAM_on_machines_that_are_no... And create a config file in /etc/pm/config.d/suspend with "S2RAM_OPTS='--force --acpi_sleep=2'" in it. There is a chance that it might work out of the box in 11.1, depending on the graphics card in your machine, but if it does not, you will still have to configure that manually. Sorry, this is more a "cantfix" than a "wontfix" ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
