[Bug 276417] New: Java program gets killed intermitently on Suse 9
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=276417 Summary: Java program gets killed intermitently on Suse 9 Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mahalakshmi.pradeep@oracle.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Since Suse 9 was not listed in the component I've opened this bug against Suse10.1. GSD is a java executable shipped with Oracle CRS 10.2.0.3. gsd behaves very strangely on Suse 9. gsd commands get killed in one attempt, but succeed in a subsequent attempt. The behavior is very erratic and we're suspecting that this issue is related to the kernel . One other reason for this suspicion is because this issue is not reproducible on other Linux flavors. I tried doing a strace of the successful and failed commands. The failed one just gets killed at the wait4(). The successful attempt goes through fine. The interval between the successful and the failed attempts is an average 5 secs. strace of the failed attempt shown below ============================================================================ rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [INT CHLD], [], 8) = 0 clone(child_stack=0, flags=CLONE_CHILD_CLEARTID|CLONE_CHILD_SETTID|SIGCHLD, chil d_tidptr=0x2a95d39f10) = 1396 rt_sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], NULL, 8) = 0 rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [CHLD], [], 8) = 0 rt_sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], NULL, 8) = 0 rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [CHLD], [], 8) = 0 rt_sigaction(SIGINT, {0x4191fc, [], SA_RESTORER, 0x2a95b40500}, {SIG_DFL}, 8) = 0 wait4(-1, # ============================================================================== The customer facing this problem is BUNDESANSTALT FÜR WASSERBAU and they have a contract with Novell. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
