[Bug 941483] New: global mimetype settings are ignored
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=941483 Bug ID: 941483 Summary: global mimetype settings are ignored Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 201505* Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: ohering@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- current TW with GNOME desktop. Opening a PDF file in ThunderBird, FireFox, Files or xdg-open always uses gimp. The global config file /etc/gnome_defaults.conf is ignored, I think this file tries to set evince as default. A workaround is "gvfs-mime --set application/pdf evince.desktop" which stores the setting in the user config in ~/.config/mimeapps.list Would be nice if such stunts can be avoided by using the global config setting. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hi Olaf
Did https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/355257
fix this for you? (Should be published in current tumbleweed I think, at least in G:F)
At least with TW 20160329 evince is used, even if gimp, inkscape and others are installed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
