[Bug 539215] New: sshd not starting
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=539215 Summary: sshd not starting Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 7 Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: radomir.cernoch@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090730 SUSE/3.5.2-3.4 Firefox/3.5.2 During the installation of 11.2 M7, the installer asks for "opening the firewall port for sshd". When the user clicks on "enable", the port is indeed opened, but the sshd service is not started (the symlinks in /etc/init.d/rc*.d/ are not created, starting sshd manually works fine). I know it is possibly not a bug in a strict sense of the word. "Opening a port" does not imply "starting the service". Nevertheless I think it would be more intuitive if the installer started the service together with opening the firewall port. What's the point of asking the initial question then?
