[Bug 800592] New: Yast Firewall configuration doesn't support IPv6
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800592 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800592#c0 Summary: Yast Firewall configuration doesn't support IPv6 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: james.knott@rogers.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 The Yast Firewall configuration does not support IPv6. IPTables and /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2 both support it, so it is possible to manually edit the file for IPv6 rules, but there is no graphical means to do so. This is important, as more and more of the world is moving to IPv6. I have been using it for almost 3 years. Using Yast Firewall, I have my firewall configured to pass only ssh and imaps, but that only works in IPv4. On IPv6, several other ports are open. This affects all openSUSE versions up to 12.2. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Configure firewall 2.Run an IPv6 port scan 3. Actual Results: Port scanning on IPv4 shows only specifically enabled ports open. On IPv6, port scans show several other ports open, when they shouldn't be. Expected Results: Yast Firewall should be able to configure for both IPv4 and IPv6, with the possibility of different configuration for the two protocols. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I just set up a test 12.3 system to try those updates on. I enabled that repository and a lot of things updated, but now Yast2 is unusable. I get an error:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'YUIPluginException' what(): Couldn't load plug-in qt YaST got signal 6 at YCP file Wizard.ycp:720 /sbin/yast2: line 431: 1654 Aborted $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS
If you update yast packages from 11.4 to 12.3 you also need to install the libyui packages for 12.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thomas, it sounds like we are missing some dependencies expressed in yast2 or libyui. Some 'Requires' / 'Conflicts' might help... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
