https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=470341 User abittner@stud.fh-heilbronn.de added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=470341#c9 andreas bittner changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Severity|Normal |Major --- Comment #9 from andreas bittner 2009-01-28 15:12:15 MST --- one more thing i have observed in general regarding graphics on this system (especially the monitor i have attached). when i boot from install/live 11.1 or 11.0 x86 media, the grub boot screen from the cd/dvd appears. this grub screen is being displayed at 800x600 on my monitor, thats at least what the monitors on-screen-display (osd) tells me. so there in this first grub screen, there is the f3 key, you can select various resolutions for install time or something. on this asus m3a78-t board and with this montor, the grub screen has preselected some 1400*XXXX resolution (dont remember the second number right now). this is not the monitors native resolution (which is 1680x1050). but still: when i continue to install/boot the 11.1 or 11.1 kde4 live system the suse screen appears with the little bar that is growing while loading the services, system and so on, and the on-screen display of my monitor tells me that it has properly switched to 1680x1050 at 60hz so there is also something wrong with the detection during the grub screen, or at least what it tells the user below the f3 key.... although i dont know if it really matters or if the grub screen and entries are simply limited to 1400xxxx resolutions or something. never the less the kernel-boottime-graphics/framebuffer/vesa stuff runs later in the proper native mode at 1680x1050x60hz but maybe this also happens to be a bug and/or related to the xorg graphics errors and failings to activate the graphic mode at VGA_1. thanks and regards. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
