I have 2 systems with dmraid one has a Promise FastTrek TX150 S4 (pdc) and one has Intel ESB2 with LSI Firmware (ddf1). I tested until now RAID0 ( just 1 disk in the SPAN ) and RAID1 ( 1 mirror ). I see now the problem with partition not found just on the ESB2. So it would be good if you could try a SATA RAID1 on a system with ESB2 or ICH9R (or higher) with LSI firmware from any vendor (except FSC), just to be sure that the problem is not caused by a faulty firmware.
